Tony Rolando Cassette

Citizen Vinyl's first cassette duplication project, Tony Rolando is not only an accomplished artist, but he is also a self-taught electronic music instrument designer and the founder of Asheville-based and internationally recognized modular analog synthesizer manufacturer, Make Noise. Tony recently released imagine a dolphin through Bandcamp. 

“What happens when you put water into your synthesizer? Perhaps with premonition, last August I became fixated on creating a library of water recordings which I could explore not only as sound but also compositional sources,” Tony writes. “Using a technique similar to Subotnick’s ‘ghost scores,’ the water sounds determined compositional possibilities within my modular synthesizer, but I remained the primary composer, guiding the music through these determinations.” All proceeds from the cassette benefit Lamplight AVL.
