The project of indie-pop singer-songwriter Michael Flynn, announces the release of new album Yesterday Don’t Fail Me Now. The full-length collection, on the NewSong Recordings label, is available on all streaming platforms as well as limited edition 12” vinyl.
A blend of hopeful and grieving, it’s the perfect album for this time — the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, which ravaged Western North Carolina where Flynn is based. But the album’s roots are in a different upheaval: a few days before he performed in the 2021 NewSong Music Songwriting Competition finals, Flynn learned that his father had mere months to live. Flynn dearly wanted to win the competition so that he could share some good news with his dad — and that’s exactly what happened.
